The Steelers welcomed two more wide receivers to Pittsburgh for pre-draft visits as they aim to strengthen their wide receiver group ahead of April’s draft. Jeff Caldwell and Kendrick Law met with the team on Monday.
Caldwell played college football at the University of Cincinnati and made a strong impression with a 1,011-yard, 10-touchdown season in 2024. Although his 2025 season was less impressive, he still caught six touchdowns. Initially viewed as a late-round pick or even an undrafted free agent, Caldwell boosted his draft stock with an outstanding NFL Combine performance. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches tall, he ran a blazing 4.31-second 40-yard dash, posting times comparable to Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf. Given the Steelers’ numerous Day 3 draft picks, adding an athletically gifted player like Caldwell could be a valuable upside selection.
Law spent his first three collegiate seasons at the University of Alabama before transferring to Kentucky for his senior year, where he had his best statistical season. After previously recording a career-high 15 receptions in a season, Law caught 53 passes for 540 yards and three touchdowns with the Wildcats. Known as a willing downfield blocker—a trait highly valued by Pittsburgh—Law measures six feet tall and just over 200 pounds. Much of his production comes from plays behind the line of scrimmage and making explosive moves after the catch. Law also has special teams experience and could contribute as a returner, offering versatility on the field.
While both players are projected as Day 3 prospects, it will be interesting to see which receiver the Steelers prioritize, especially with six picks on Day 3. Don’t be surprised if Pittsburgh selects a developmental wideout like Caldwell or Law in April.
